Hello! How was March for you? The first few weeks seemed to fly by for me, and this past one took about a year. Maybe it’s because I started a new job at the end of February, so most of the first week or so of March was adjusting and learning, followed by a quick shakeup of the regular work routine, which has now stabilized again. Maybe it was a February hangover, or I was too excited for Spring to get here? Who knows. Either way, it’s over and April’s finally here!
In my last post I said that I didn’t think doing a monthly mood board was for me… But what’s right up my alley? Making lists. Specifically goal lists. Ok, any type of list, but you’re going to get my goals rather than my 10 Things That Need To Get Done Right Now mental list that I have going on.
Some of my goals are overarching per month, like Read 2 Books, or workout 5 times a week (something I’ve admittedly been slacking on in a big way). Since they’re regular goals I’m not going to include them in the monthly list, just an FYI, but they are always there. Because of this, every month I’m going to do a quick beginning of the month post with five new goals that I want to work towards.
So, without further ado…
100 Days Of Working Out
I’m going to start this challenge I’m setting for myself to get back in the habit of moving my body in more challenging ways than walking through muddy fields while my 110 lb dog drags me along. Although, that admittedly is a decent cardio workout if maintained for 30 minutes. Trust me. Anywho, I’ll be trying to post up on Instagram stories when I’ve completed my workout, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
No Extra Spending
Health insurance, yes, I need that. That bag of (soon to be) discounted Easter candy? I do not. Dog food? Yes. Fabric? No. Etc. etc. I did this in February, and aside from a quick break from it to shop a Madewell sale (they get me too often), I held up pretty well!
Have Fun Everyday
Whether it be reading a blog I like, taking a few minutes to sit in the sun and pet Mag, or exploring a new place in town, I want to take the time to infuse fun into my daily routine. If you have any ideas for free or low-cost fun, let me know! I’d love to hear your recommendations!
Hunker Down And Practice Coding
I’ve finally realized how much I love coding, and I want to learn more. As a foundation I want to shore up my skills that I already have, relearn languages I’ve forgotten and reintroduce myself to languages I was not on the best terms with. I’ve always loved building things (my growing self-made wardrobe is a testament to that), and building a website, app or plug-in myself is so much fun. White screen of death and all.
Two Hours of TV A Day
It’s so easy for me to get swept into TV and lose half my day. I’ve been locked in to Wild Wild Country on Netflix, which, in my defense, truly is wild so it’s easy to get sucked into. But three hours of Fixer Upper, just because it’s the only thing on? No more. I’d much rather use that time listening to new music, reading a book or practicing my coding. Sadly this might be a little difficult since I do love Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, but I think I can survive.
